About The Design

The 80 Gallon USA Rain Barrel is a combination of new (80%) and recycled (20%) materials blended into a new barrel with no previous usage. The heavy duty concave lid, with screened entry, channels water into the barrel and works well with any size, type or style of downspout eliminating the need for additional components for adaption. The lid is over two feet wide to allow for easy spring cleaning, removal of pollen and bucket dipping and is secured to the rain barrel’s turned down top edge.

The fluted ribbed cylindrical design of the rain barrel adds extra strength to the integrity of the barrel and allows air and sunlight to circulate around the barrel to help prohibit moisture and mold buildup behind the barrel and on the side of your home. This design also allows for lower cost shipping when ordering multiple barrels as the barrels can stack inside one another.

The 80 Gallon USA Rain Barrel comes equipped with two metal overflow ports that are molded-not glued or caulked into the barrel and a solid brass faucet that is threaded into a ½” metal insert. All fittings are standard garden hose fittings and can easily be connected to soaker or garden hoses to direct excess water to nearby flowers or shrubs and away from your homes foundation.

About The Materials

Each rain barrel is made of High Density Polyethylene HDPE that blocks UV light and is resistant to fading and corrosion. Polyethylene is an extremely durable plastic that is ideal for outdoor products because of its resistance to rust, mold, mildew and rotting. The dark green color is an important element in that it discourages the growth of algae and is the preferred color of many Home Owner Associations.
